Happy New Year, everyone!
I spent the night between the 31.12. and the 1.1. in Leipzig, watching 'Wallenstein'. All 3 parts in one go (a lot of people dozed off during the second part, but they drummed them awake again in the third). Great show, good breakfast buffet afterwards and the actor who played the Wallenstein was awesome.

I'm back from Berlin - compulsorily. My ex-boss is totally bankrupt - hasn't paid his rent since February and been thrown out of his flat and the office rooms. The dunning letters from the phone company, the tax advisor and the health insurance company have been flooding the mail. And of course he has no money to pay my salary. I've filed a lawsuit in front of the labour court but it seems that the company I have my work contract with doesn't actually exist legally - so my chances of getting any of the money look bad right now...
So due to my financial situation I've been moving in with my Mum again - and she's been cranky and overly irritable ever since; she's exploding nearly every day, because of tiny and / or stupid things. Her tendency to misinterpret everything I say in the worst possible manner makes it hard to avoid arguments, she finds a reason even when I'm trying to be as peaceful as possible (and I'm not, by nature, a peaceful human being, so that's hard in itself)...
I've got a job interview tomorrow - anybody wish me luck?

Okay, I need a new habitation, like right now, because my landlord has officially waved good-bye to sanity. I just went to the kitchen to find a sheet of paper that says he is surprised to have to repeatedly tell me that I should leave the kitchen like I've found it (And that I shouldn't have put the spaghetti into the biological waste, but I won't even acknowledge that absurdity...) - well, you would think I'd left a right mess there, wouldn't you? Umm, no, actually there was a chopping board and a knife, that's all. And I fully intended to wash them before going to bed, I just wanted to eat first, so that I could wash my plate together with the two other things...
What does one do with such people??

So, a friend of mine found me an open position as an assistant of an estate agent in Berlin some weeks ago, I applied for it and got hired. We agreed that I should start work at January 15th. I've found a room in Charlottenburg, only two stops from my working place, and moved in last Saturday. Monday, I went to work. Punctually. And then I waited one and a half hour for my boss - who was very surprised to see me, because he'd decided that I should begin my work at February, 1st. And hadn't told me about it...
Well, at least he managed to finally sign my contract; and I get paid quite well - especially considering I've never done anything like office work before.
